Savannah's First Birthday!!!

Savannah had her birthday party Saturday.  She seemed to have a really good time.  She loved all the clothes and dolls/animals that she received.  She gave each one of them a big welcome hug.

Here she is at the beginning of the party with her Daddy.

She's excited about all of this!

After eating her cake.

Trying on one of her new outfits.

Hugging one of her new pals.

Aidan checking out her birthday cake.

We took her to the doctor Friday for her 1 yr checkup.  She weighs 22 lbs 6 oz and is 30.5 inches long. (The boys were this size at 9 months).  She's gained 14 lbs over the past year.

Savannah

Savannah turned 8 months yesterday. I can't believe how quickly she's growing. It just seems like yesterday that I gave birth to her and was holding a tiny little being. Now she's scooting across the floor, pulling herself up and eating "big girl" food. My kids are growing up so fast. Here are a few pics.

End of May already?

I can't believe it's the last day of May. Aidan will be two in a couple of weeks. I need to start planning his birthday party but he hasn't decided where and what he wants.

Aidan and Silas got their summer haircuts this month. Aidan's has almost grown out already. Maybe a buzz cut next time?

Silas still won't leave the dinky alone. He now has 4 loose bottom front teeth - not sure if they are ready to come out or if the dinky is helping them a little. I was a thumb sucker and my teeth didn't come out until I was over 5. I'm thinking his teeth think they need to keep up with the rest of him. He's already the size of a 6 year old. He's getting so tall - especially these past few weeks. I'm thinking all the jeans I bought on clearance for him to wear in the fall won't fit him.

Savannah now has three bottom teeth! At her six month appointment she was weighing 17 lbs and was 25 inches long.

The First Week of May '06

Silas the leader - not the follower!

Silas decided on this ensemble all by himself. We love how he chose stripes with the shoes. Really brings out his creativity. He only got a few comments, luckily he didn't hear them. I'm really proud of the fact that he doesn't have to do what everyone else does. We just hope he'll continue to grow like this.

Savannah has two teeth now but this picture only shows one. She's determined to get those teeth in so she can eat "big girl" food and not the baby mush that Mommy's been feeding her.
She's going to be 6 months old Wednesday. She's really chattering now and wanting to play with the boys. She's too cute!

Aidan - the nature child. Loves playing in the grass, dirt, duck poo, etc. Aidan gave me quite a scare this weekend.
We were all heading out to the car to go feed the ducks while John was at work when we got stopped by the neighbors. They are buying my old Neon and wanted to test drive it. While we were talking, Aidan started to walk down the hill to the back of our yards. He disappeared behind the fence so I went after him and couldn't find him. I start yelling for him and heard nothing. Someone behind our houses said they saw a little boy head toward the creek. I instantly start to panic - he's not a good swimmer and the creek is not easy to get to - you have to jump or fall off some rocks (about a 2 ft fall). I started running and screaming and could not find him. At this point, several of our neighbors are out yelling for him too. I was on my way up to call 911 when a guy pulled up and asked if I lost a little boy. He tells me there was one down the road!! He drove me to him and there he was in the middle of the road (not a major road) - three cars are stopped and a family was standing there with him. I just started bawling. He was less than 50 feet from the house. He took a different route than I expected and there is no way he made it to the creek and back up the hill within the 5 minutes he was missing - it seemed like hours. The only thing running through my mind was that someone snatched him. I'm just thankful that someone stopped and waited with him until I got to him and that he wasn't hit by a car - teenagers fly through the neighborhood. I'm also thankful that the neighbors were helpful in looking for him and watching Silas and Savannah. They all made me feel better by telling me stories of their children doing the same thing - and being missing much longer.
The thing we've noticed about Aidan is he's really sneaky. He hides and is really quiet about it - just like his dad. Silas gives himself away by laughing - he always has - just like me. Aidan won't answer if you call him. From now on, when he goes outside, he's getting the Elmo Leash.

My boys - together for all of a few seconds - recharging - before running off again.

I hope this week is much easier than last. I know I probably aged at least 10 years on Saturday - still not sleeping right though. The neighbors were kind enough to remind that this is nothing - wait until they are teenagers! Ugggggg I better start back on the Zoloft now!
